About Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which appears to stimulate the body to heal itself. It is thought that remedies tap into the natural tendency of the body to heal itself.
The principle upon which homeopathic remedies are prescribed is that of “Like cures Like”. In other words we take a very small quantity of a substance which could cause symptoms in someone who is well. We then use that same substance to treat similar symptoms in someone who is sick.
The “like for like” concept is also used in some Western medicines.
Homeopathy only uses naturally occurring substances made from animal, plant and mineral sources.
Homeopathy is used all over the world.
There are 5 NHS Homeopathic Hospitals in Britain, located in London, Liverpool, Bristol, Glasgow and Tunbridge Wells. There is also a Homeopathic Clinic (NHS) in Manchester. A number of doctors, dentists and vets are also trained as homeopaths.
Many public figures such as Paul McCartney, Louise Hay and Louise Jameson are strong advocates of homeopathy. The Royal Family are staunch supporters of Homeopathy.
