How long does treatment last? How much will it cost?

Length of treatment depends on what is being treated. For some chronic long term conditions the treatment will be longer, maybe months. But for other people it may be that you only need to visit a homeopath a couple of times. The homeopath that you see will be able to give you an idea of how long it might take, but no one can know until the journey is well underway, and there are no further knocks on the way. You have control over your healing and if you feel that you are well enough to stop seeing your homeopath then discuss it with him or her and it maybe that you can stop altogether or lengthen the time between appointments. The fees depend on the homeopath. Different homeopaths charge different fees in different ways, some charge for phone consultations, some charge if you cancel your appointment, some may even offer special deals depending on how often you see them. If you are not sure then phone them and ask.

How do I know I'm making an appointment with a qualified homeopath?

Look for the letters after their name. There are a number of professional bodies so RSHom is a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths. MARH is a member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths and MHMA is a member of the Homeopathic Medical Association. All have websites so do a bit of research if you're not sure. The Society of Homeopaths is the longest established and possibly the most respected but that does not mean the others don't also do very good work. It was personal choice to join the SOH and has no reflection on the other professional bodies. Each body has a strict Code of Ethics that homeopaths sign up to you should generally be well protected.

What if I don't feel comfortable with my homeopath?

It is extremely important that you feel comfortable and trust your homeopath, but we don't all get on with everybody. It's rare but it does happen that you decide you do not want to pursue treatment. Tell your homeopath if that is the case although you are under no obligation to tell them why. They will more than likely not question why you have reached your decision and will help you find another homeopath in the local area if that's what you want.

What if I need to contact my homeopath urgently?

At your first appointment your homeopath should be able to tell you how and when you can contact them, but if you are unsure then ask. Some homeopaths will be available more than others, but if you are concerned at all then talk to them about it.
